Pulchri Studio is organizing an exhibition in honour of Christiaan Huygens, he is seen as one of the greatest inventors in Dutch history.
Learning more about this 17th Century scientist I was blown away by this remarkable person; he invented the pendulum clock, was an important mathematician, physicist and astronomer, and was the first to see the ring around the planet Saturn.
Since his work is so groundbreaking, my painting turned into a hurricane.
My contribution is based on a portrait of Christiaan Huygens however there are so many female inventors and scientist who never achieved the same spotlight throughout history, I decided to give it a female touch.

My “warrior”, her feathers for movement and her face painted as a sundial referring to time.
